Transitional Shelter serves 62

PADS Transitional Shelter

The summer Transitional Shelter is coming to a close, and we are happy to report that it was one of the most productive summers in recent memory. With five nights of shelter left before the regular season begins, we have served 62 people. Six of them were children, four were veterans and 11 were chronically homeless. Each was provided with food, shelter and the supportive services necessary to begin their transition to stability. We couldn't have done it without the support of our volunteers and the following host congregations: Fair Oaks Presbyterian, St. Christopher Episcopal, St. Giles, First United Church of Oak Park, Oak Park Temple, St. Paul Thai Lutheran and Resurrection. Thank you for all your hard work this summer! Keep an eye on the Get Involved page of our website for information about volunteering during the 2014-2015 season, which begins September 15th.
