On Thursday, June 6th, Housing Forward will host a new version of our successful Progressive Dinner, now called Feast For Good. Formerly in Oak Park, the Progressive Dinner is a chance for guests to enjoy a wonderful meal at three different restaurants. This year, we are moving to a new neighborhood, Forest Park, to experience the diverse collection of restaurants along Madison Street. with three different paths to choose from, this event will greatly beneift the clients we serve and help in our mission to end homelessness.

During the month of November, every Giving Bag sold at the Fresh Thyme located at: 7501 North Ave., River Forest will generate an automatic $1 donation to support PADS Shelter, unless otherwise directed by the Giving Tag attached to the bag. Fresh Thyme Giving Bags can be found on the reusable bag rack and at various registers. Please shop often, and help us spread the word!

Governor Rauner has declared today, October 17, 2018 National Service Opening Day. Almost 1,000 Illinoisans will pledge their continuing commitment to helping their communities at the 24th Annual Illinois’ National Service Opening Day event in Springfield. There will be a parade to the Old State Capitol where attendees will be sworn in for their year of service and will proclaim their commitment to Illinois and the nation. Several of the national service members will receive awards and all military veterans will be honored for their continued service.

In late September, Alexis Singleton, a Housing Forward Rapid Rehousing case manager, was the first from our agency to visit the west side Chicago Furniture Bank. She brought her client Cordello, who is about to move into his new apartment.
