Honoring Our Nation's Veterans

Honoring Our Nation's Veterans

On any given night, nearly 50,000 veterans in the United State are homeless. In addition to the complex set of factors influencing all homelessness – extreme shortage of affordable housing, livable income and access to health care – a large number of displaced and at-risk veterans live with lingering effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse, which are compounded by a lack of family and social support networks. Additionally, military occupations and training are not always transferable to the civilian workforce, placing some veterans at a disadvantage when competing for employment.

With Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th, we are looking for people interested in making cards with special messages to thank the veterans we serve for their sacrifice for our country. We would need to have them by Friday, November 7th in order to get them to our clients on time. If you, or a group you are a part of, is interested in making these cards, please contact Alexis Ledesma.
