Our Summer Transitional Shelter program is well underway and we are in need of meal providers. Please consider signing up to provide or prepare a meal. The Summer Transitional Shelter program is an opportunity for individuals and families experiencing homelessness to continue to benefit from the aid of Housing Forward case workers and other services throughout the summer months. The 17th annual Sing-Along Messiah will be held on Sunday, December 3rd at First United Methodist Church of Oak Park. The event begins at 3:30 p.m., with all free-will donations benefiting Housing Forward.

After our fire at our Headquarters in Maywood, we quickly put an action plan in motion to make our recovery as prompt and predictable as possible in order to limit the disruption in services and programs to the clients we serve. St. Eulalia has generously worked with us throughout the rebuilding process to help Housing Forward in our efforts to resume our operations in our Support Center and Headquarters.

Did you know, in 2016 it cost the United States Mint 6.23 cents to make a nickel?
On Thursday, July 13, Ian Cox, will be taking the stage as the new Trivia Master for Housing Forward’s annual Trivia Night. Teams of up to six people will participate in a mind-bending night of trivia at FitzGerald’s in Berwyn. Ian has a few tricks up his sleeve to keep the night interesting, but you will have to join us to find out the twists our trivia will take this year.

On Monday, April 17, Housing Forward welcomed more than 200 guests to the annual Progressive Dinner to help those in the community that are experiencing or at-risk of homelessness. The event, now in its 15th year, was hosted in three locations in Oak Park, Winberie's, Oak Park Brewing Company and L!ve Cafe, and included donations from Buzz Cafe, The Cheesecake Stand, Cucina Paradiso, and The Happy Apple Pie Shop.

Funded by the Future Philanthropists Program of the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation the student council of the Mann School in Oak Park and other students have coordinated educational kits to be used by the children in our PADS Shelter along with birthday presents for the children in our housing programs. Thank you to Laura Jordahl, both volunteer and donor to Housing Forward for coordinating this project with the students.
