Support Our 2026 School Supplies Drive!

Did you know that more than half of all households experiencing homelessness in suburban Cook County have a child under 18? 

This year, we're aiming to collect at least 200 backpacks for students in grades K–12. By donating one or more filled backpacks, you'll directly support families as they prepare for the new school year. Students experiencing homelessness often face additional barriers to enrollment, school resources, and academic success. Our annual backpack drive helps ensure every student begins the year with a new backpack filled with age-appropriate school supplies.

To help us organize and distribute donations, we'll have two days for backpack drop-off. We ask that you bring all backpacks to Broadview Wesleyan Church (2218 S. 18th Ave, Broadview) on one of the following days: 

• Monday, August 17 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

• Tuesday, August 18 | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Not interested in school supply shopping? You can still help! Some of the students who receive support from Housing Forward attend schools where uniforms are required. Make sure they are dressed for success by donating a $100 Walmart gift card!
