Voter Registration 2026

Voter Registration

“The right to vote is the basic right without which all others are meaningless. It gives people, people as individuals, control over their own destinies.” -Lyndon B. Johnson

Election Day is coming up on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. This year marks the midterm elections, with a number of opportunities to shape your community on a federal, state and local level. Ballots will include Governor and Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Cook County Sheriff, Cook County Clerk, and more.

Your voice matters! Anyone can vote if they are a U.S. Citizen over the age of 18. You can vote early or by mail, you can vote if you have never voted before, and you can vote if you have a criminal record or felony conviction.

Housing Forward will be hosting a series of voter registration events for our clients, some of which will also be open to the public.

  • Supportive Housing Clients | Wednesday, September 23 | 11AM - 1PM

  • Open to Public (Oak Park Area) | Tuesday, September 29 |  5PM - 7PM

During these events we will be registering voters, helping request mail-in ballots, providing election day information, and answering any questions.

If you are planning to register, please bring:

  • Last Four Digits of your Social Security Number

  • Your Illinois Driver's License or State ID (Click here for accepted alternate forms of ID)
