Socktober is just around the corner.

Tuesday, September 25th, 2018

For the 5th consecutive year, Kid President and SoulPancake hope people--especially kids--will prove that even the smallest acts, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless. The student council at Whittier Elementary in Oak Park is planning a sock drive and all three Oak Park library buildings will have collection bins. You can help by either donating there or starting your own collection. By visitng you can learn how to set up a sock drive and search an online directory of all the homeless shelters in the country. (Housing Forward is listed under "Chicago.") New socks of any kind are something our clients always need so if you decide to collect for us, please let us know so we can thank you!
