INTRODUCING OUR NEW LOOK: A Logo That Reflects Our Mission and Momentum

Today, we are introducing a new look, designed to make it easier for anyone who needs us to find the right resources and understand what we offer. Whether you are a client seeking services, an organization looking to partner, or a donor ready to make a difference, we want it to be simple to connect with Housing Forward. As our programs have evolved, so must the images and words we use to describe them. We are pleased to present our new logo, which we believe more fully reflects our mission and our work to end homelessness.

We’ve Come a Long Way, Together

Housing Forward would not exist today without the volunteers and congregations who took action more than three decades ago. In the early days we were known as Tri-Village PADS, and our purpose was clear: respond to the urgent crisis of homelessness in west suburban Cook County. In our first year (1992) we provided a warm meal and a safe place to sleep for more than 100 people.

By 2015, our organization had outgrown its name as our work expanded to include a greater focus on housing and prevention. We became Housing Forward to better reflect our new programs and our comprehensive approach to addressing homelessness. This change marked a turning point for the organization, and ushered in a decade of significant growth and innovation.

Over the past ten years, we have transformed how we address homelessness in the communities we serve. We have reinforced our prevention services by designing diversion practices that help individuals avoid homelessness before it begins. We have strengthened partnerships with hospitals, government agencies, and local nonprofits, creating a more coordinated response and a stronger regional safety net. And we adapted through a global pandemic that fundamentally reshaped our shelter service model. Last year, 2,586 people were impacted by our services— the highest number we have ever assisted.

Stable housing has always been the goal. The paths people take to get there continue to evolve.

Today, our work is about helping people move from housing crisis to lasting housing stability and we recognize that ending homelessness means addressing it at all levels. Our programs are designed to meet the immediate needs of each individual or family who is seeking services.

Every day, we work to prevent homelessness whenever possible, respond to housing crises when they do occur, and stabilize people with supportive services and housing.

Our new logo is a visual reminder of our approach to ending homelessness. It also reflects the people behind the mission: clients, staff, partners, donors, and volunteers, who all play a critical role in moving us forward.

Be Part of What’s Next.

Ending homelessness requires adaptability, intentionality, and a shared commitment. We are united by a belief that housing is a human right and as we look ahead, we will continue finding new ways to support the 26 communities we serve.

There is important work ahead in 2025, and together we can make meaningful progress. Thank you for standing with us and being part of this work.
