Improving Illinois Shelters In-Person Listening Session

The Illinois Office to Prevent and End Homelessness (OPEH) and the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Office of Housing Stability (OHS) invite you to an in-person listening session focused on strengthening shelter options statewide. On Tuesday, October 14, all shelter stakeholders will be given the opportunity to share insights and help shape the future of shelter services in Illinois.

Discussion topics include strengths, challenges, and what’s needed to make shelters more accessible for everyone. We want to hear from you about barriers, such as zoning issues, serious mental illness, substance use disorder, pets, personal storage, couples and families.
