Hope for Homes Day 2026: Stable Housing is Just The Start
Housing ends homelessness. Supportive services help end the cycle of housing instability.
A safe place to call home is often only the first step. Housing provides stability so many of us take for granted: a place to sleep every night, a shower, safety, and peace of mind to focus on what comes next.
At Housing Forward, our Wraparound Services Program helps make that next step possible.
What are Wraparound Services?
The Wraparound Services Program was created to provide person-centered support that addresses the barriers clients face on their path to long-term stability. By bringing specialized services together under one program, our housing case managers can focus on helping clients secure and maintain housing while WRAP staff provide additional resources that promote health, financial security, employment, and overall well-being. WRAP services include:
- Community Health: Monthly health clinics led by our Community Health Nurse, offering basic health screenings, education, and connections to community health resources.
- Behavioral Health: A dedicated Behavioral Health Specialist provides immediate support, helping clients navigate mental health concerns, connect with appropriate services, and take the next steps toward ongoing care
. - Employment Services: Employment specialists work one-on-one with clients to identify job opportunities, career pathways, workforce training programs, and other resources.
- Family Support Services: Families receive assistance through children's resources, family activities, essential care supplies, childcare support, and referrals to programs that strengthen family stability.
- Legal Clinic: Volunteer attorneys and legal professionals provide guidance on civil legal issues that may affect a client's ability to obtain employment, maintain housing, or resolve other barriers to stability.
- Financial Literacy Workshops: Through partnerships with local financial institutions, clients can participate in multi-week workshops covering budgeting, banking, credit, saving, debt management, and other financial skills that promote long-term independence.
- SOAR (social security, disability, Medicaid, etc.) and Benefits Coordination: Our Benefits Coordinator assists eligible clients with applications for Social Security Disability benefits, Medicaid, and other public assistance programs. Through the SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) model, clients receive individualized support navigating complex application processes.
Together, these services recognize that stable housing is only one piece of maintaining long-term stability.

Program Spotlight: Employment Services
Like all of the supportive services offered through the Wraparound Services Program, Employment Services is focused on helping clients build a foundation for lasting success. That starts by recognizing that every person's journey is different.
Housing Forward Employment Specialist Louada Lee works with clients to identify careers that align with their interests, strengths, and goals. She says people are more successful if they’re doing something they’re truly interested in.
"I like to learn about their background," Lee says. "What did they enjoy about a previous job? What do they want to do? What skills do they already have? The client is the expert on their own life and what they want."
Clients in any Housing Forward program can be referred to Employment Services by their case manager. From there, Lee helps them explore career options, connect with training opportunities, strengthen their resumes, prepare for interviews, and build the skills needed for long-term success.
She has placed people in training programs for construction, home health care, and culinary arts. One of the most popular partnerships is with Inspiration Kitchen, where participants complete a 12-week program that combines eight weeks of culinary skills training with four weeks of career development. Graduates leave with professional aprons, culinary tools, and a portfolio showcasing their best dishes to share with prospective employers.
For Lee, the most rewarding moments come when she gets to celebrate her clients' achievements. She makes it a point to attend graduations and award ceremonies because she wants clients to know that someone believes in them.
In April, Lee attended the Inspiration Kitchen graduation ceremony of Robert, a Housing Forward client. When Robert's partner and children were unable to attend, Lee and his case manager, Tiffany, were there to cheer him on. Their presence reflected something that defines the Wraparound Services Program: clients are never navigating these milestones alone.
The journey to employment is not always straightforward. Some clients have years of experience or advanced degrees but struggle to find work because of a criminal record. Others face barriers such as unreliable transportation or limited access to childcare. Success also depends on a client's readiness and willingness to engage in the process. By addressing these challenges alongside career planning, Employment Services helps people overcome obstacles that might otherwise get in the way.
Employment Services is just one part of Housing Forward's Wraparound Services Program, but it reflects the program's broader philosophy: lasting stability comes from investing in people, supporting their goals, and walking alongside them every step of the way.
