Emergency Warming Center Activated January 21 - January 26

From the Village of Oak Park: 

When dangerously cold temperatures strike, residents are urged to limit time outdoors for themselves and their pets, as well as to check in on friends and neighbors who may need assistance.

With below-zero wind chills forecast for the next several days, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will be operating as a warming center starting at 7 p.m. Wed., Jan. 21 until Sat., Jan. 24 at noon. The shelter is located at 611 Randolph St.

On Saturday afternoon, the emergecy warming center will move to the Bridge Center at St. Catherine/St. Lucy and operate continuously until and Mon., Jan. 26 at 8 a.m. This shelter is located at 38 N. Austin Blvd.

The three branches of the Oak Park Public Library also serve as warming centers during regular operating hours. For more information about library locations and hours, please click here.
